The Alberta College of Dental Hygienists is seeking to fill the role of Regulatory Manager.
The Organization
The Alberta College of Dental Hygienists (ACDH) is the professional regulatory body for Alberta's over 4000 Registered Dental Hygienists. Created under the Health Professions Act (HPA), our mandate is to ensure Alberta dental hygienists have the knowledge, skills, attitude, and judgment to provide safe, effective, ethical, and competent oral healthcare to Albertans.
A regulatory college’s job is to protect the public from unsafe practice and hold members of the profession accountable for the care they provide. Colleges ensure that Albertans are provided with safe, high quality care by professionals who adhere to the highest standards and ethical conduct.
The Opportunity
As the Regulatory Manager, reporting to the Deputy Registrar, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the regulatory team, who are accountable for the overall development and maintenance of legislative and regulatory documents, including: Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, guidelines, position statements, competencies, policies, and procedures. You will oversee the writing, development and maintenance of regulatory guidelines, policies and Standards of Practice that position the profession to adopt best practice solutions or approaches and regulatory tools or protocols.
The Regulatory Manager engages College registrants through education and the use of regulatory resources to assist them in their practice of dental hygiene. Your work will involve working collaboratively with other health regulators and stakeholders. The ability to work in synchronicity with other ACDH team members in identifying current and emerging issues and viable solutions to those issues is paramount.

The position is located in Edmonton.

As the ideal candidate you will have a related degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public policy, or equivalents. A graduate degree will be considered an asset.
Your experience will demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to oversee complex issues in a policy or regulatory environment. You will also possess superior planning, organizational, problem solving, analytical, and time management skills. Supervisory experience in leading projects or a team is also desirable. Clinical knowledge, and or the skills to relate to registered dental hygienists in a variety of practice settings is considered an asset. High proficiency in MS office is required.
