It is the role of the CRDHA to embrace leading regulatory practices and update Practice Standards and Guidelines in order to protect the public. There has been changes to Provincial Standards regarding sedation and how to keep the public safe. The CRDHA is currently seeking expert and legal advice to assist in developing guidance for dental hygienists to address client safety and meet the Practice Standards and Code of Ethics of the profession.

The CRDHA encourages registrants to learn more about what this means for their own practice and reminds registrants that they must work within their own level of competency.

If you are a member of the public, please contact the CRDHA if you have any questions.
